Sundial Medicine Wheel

I'm up on top of the Sundial Medicine Wheel and you can see central cairn. Medicine wheels are stilll being used as ceremonial centres by First Nations people and oftern leave objects as an offerings like rags of solid colors like red.
Archaeologists often study the growth of lichen on the rocks to determine the age of medicine wheels. They believe that Sundial was built in two stages where they built the inner one first and the outer one second.
From here I had a good view of the Little Bow River. I could a lot of sagebrush starting to grow on the hill. It's a member of the Artemesia genus and daisy family and I don't find a lot of it in Calgary
